Another Vintage Tag

Hi.  I'm still on that sunbed, lol!

This is another tag I've made:

The background was done the same as the last tag - I love how each one is so different, yet with the same colours.  The torso was stamped on TH Shabby Chic patterned paper then cut out, inked with Tattered Rose and Pumice Stone around the edges.  "Fabulous" stamped in Timber Brown Stazon, some dangly trim and TH tissue tape added to the bottom of the torso (and the bottom of the tag) along with some sparkly gems.  The sentiment has been mounted onto some alcohol inked glossy card and, along with the word strip, is by HOTP.  Some frayed cotton twisted with a TH pin through, and some dyed rose trim, to finish.  Tag, rose trim, and tissue tape from Craft-Room, but I'm not sure where the torso stamp is from.

I'm hoping to use these tags on altered books, at some point in the future.

Hope you like it.

A Vintage Tag

Hi, this is a very short post as it's scheduled.  Hopefully I'm lying on a sunbed at this moment in time, topping up my tan, on the beautiful island of Crete :-)!

This is a tag I've made using Distress Stains, which I've not used often:

I've used Walnut Stain, Antique Linen and Spun Sugar Distress Stains on the tag, then sprayed it with water, swooshed it about, then dried it with a heat gun.  These are the only three colours I have at the moment, lol!  The image is a transparency from a sheet that someone gave me, so I'm not sure where it's from - I've layered it onto some paper so that it stands out a bit.  Text stamped on the background (Timber Brown Stazon), roughed up the edges then went around them with a little antique gold rub on.  I've used alcohol inks on a small offcut of thick glossy card and stamped "escape" in Timber Brown Stazon.  Some dyed seam binding twisted round with a TH pin through the middle and a few gems attached to the pin.  Some liquid pearls, a heart and a Dream ticket to finish, with some frayed broderie anglaise along the bottom.

Tags, inks, distress stains and seam binding from Craft-Room Online shop.

Hope you like it.

Vintage Christmas Hanging - Craft-Room Challenge "Anything Christmas"

Hello again, it's time for another Craft-Room Challenge - the weeks are flying by and it will soon be Christmas!  The Home Decor entries were stunning - it will so tough picking a top 3!  This time, the challenge has been chosen by the lovely Julia, and the theme is "Anything Christmas" -  I'm sure that you're all ready to start (if you haven't already!) on your Christmas cards & projects so this is a perfect time for this theme.  There's a £10 voucher to be won in the random draw, and a top 3 will be picked - check out the "Pesky Rules" here and above all, have fun!!!

My DT project for this challenge is a little wall hanging (yes, another wall hanging, lol!) "Counting the Days to Christmas":

The idea is to simply tick off the days to Christmas.

I've used some chipboard, cut to size with a craft knife, for the two pieces and covered them with paper from Papermania "Silent Night" collection.  I've inked the edges with some Old Paper and a little Pumice Stone DI, and some gold metallic rub on.   The background to the image, sentiment and calendar part are also inked in Old Paper as a base colour - on the main image, I've also used Weathered Wood for the sky.  The Crafty Individuals (CI-254) image is stamped in black Stazon and the buildings are coloured in neat Distress Reinkers Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap and Weathered Wood.  I've used a little Jones Tones glitter on the stars, then matted the image onto some cream cotton which I've frayed around the edges, then the image, sentiment and calendar are matted onto black, finely corrugated paper/card.  The calendar is attached to the main piece with black ribbon, and I've used the same ribbon to hang it, and a little metal snowflake to finish.

All inks and chipboard are available from Craft-Room Online shop.  Sentiment and calendar are done on pc.

I hope you like it.

I'm also entering this into the following challenges:

Bows and Berries - Glitter
Gingerloft Challenge - Vintage or Distressed

Wall Hanging

Hi, I thought I'd show you another little wall hanging I made for someone's birthday:

I've used an 8 x 8 canvas board for this, and coloured it with Walnut Ink Crystals dissolved in warm water.  I've added a touch of Weathered Wood DI here and there, and stamped some Crafty Individuals flourishes directly onto the board using Timber Brown Stazon.  The dress image is by Stamps Happen and is coloured with Tattered Rose neat re-inker - I've stamped it onto a piece of mountboard which has been coloured with Distress Inks.  The lacy roses are from Craft-Room - these come as white, but I've dyed them with the re-inker.  The birdcage is also stamped on mountboard, which has been coloured with inks, and a little dangly trim added.  The bird in the heart was a freebie from Craft Stamper magazine, and I've added some tissue tape round the edges, a handmade flower made from dyed lace, some wooden mini knobs (think these are for a dolls house, lol), and a TH ticket.

As well as linking this to the Shabby Chic Girls Club, I'd like to enter it into the following challenges:

Anything Goes Challenge - Vintage/Shabby Chic
Shopping Our Stash - Vintage/Distressed/Shabby Chic
Paper Creations Ink - Vintage or Distressed

I hope you like it.

Tag

Hi, as the the theme over at Dragon's Dream TIO is "Use Mostly Red", and the Fashionable Stamping Challenge is "Tags", I thought I would combine the two, so this is the tag I've created:

I used a Ranger Manilla tag, covered it with Old Paper DI, sprayed with water and dried, then went over most of it with Fired Brick, then sprayed and dried again.  I stamped the background text with Fired Brick, and the CI flourishes, images and main text with Jet Black Stazon.  The two main images (including the word "Visage") were Craft Stamper Freebies and the sentiment I'm afraid I can't remember.  The rose was something I bought many years ago from Asda - it was mounted into a 3d box frame.  I'd took it all apart last week to recycle the box frame at a later date, so thought I'd recycle the rose, which I've edged in a little red glitter, as well :-).  The edge of the tag is gently edged in Black Soot DI, and a red ribbon to finish.

This isn't a colour I use very often as I never feel as though it looks quite right, but I'm pleased with how this has turned out.

As well as the two challenges mentioned at the top of this post, I'm also going to enter this tag into the following challenges:

Addicted To Stamps - Anything But A Card
Allsorts Challenge - Flowers and Swirls1
Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog - Make Yourself Uncomfortable
Happy Daze Challenge - Little Black Dress as everything I make has some rubber stamping on it somewhere!

Hope you like it.

More Home Decor - Wall Hanging

Hello everyone!  As the theme over at Craft-Room Challenge is Home Decor, I thought I'd keep with this theme and make a couple more pieces - nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that I love wall hangings, lol.  This is the first (of probably a few!) - I will upload the others in a couple of days:

I used a blank canvas panel measuring 10 x 14in, and sponged 4 or 5 coats of walnut ink (the crystals dissolved in warm water) onto it with a make-up wedge - I've never used this stuff before but absolutely love how it turned out.  All of the images (Crafty Individuals) are stamped onto chipboard in Timber Brown Stazon and coloured with neat distress re-inkers (Craft-Room), the backgrounds are coloured with distress ink pads and the receipt has been stamped. masked, and  then re-stamped at an angle, and a memo pin with some charms (they tooks me AGES to attach, lol) pushed through it.  The chandeliers (Kanban) are stamped directly onto the inked canvas with brown stazon, as are the flourishes (CI), with a bit of perfect pearls on the two bottom corner ones.  The two blue roses are made of twisted seam binding (Craft-Room) which I've dyed with weathered wood and added some small pearls, and the little knobs are glued onto the corners (think these were meant for a dolls house, lol) and a curtain trim attached to the back of the bottom.  Some tissue tape round the edge, with Fresco Finish rubbed in, and some broderie anglaise on the larger image.  Some close ups of the images:

I must be getting old - had to do these under a magnifier!!!

Stamped on card, then fixed to small square of chipboard, then canvas.

This one is for meeeeee, and I've put it on my living room wall :-)

For the very first time, I am going to enter Just For Fun's latest challenge of Timeless Vintage with this wall hanging, as I've just read Zoe's post for today  :-), as well as the Crafty Individuals' September Challenge - Hanging About, as there's a few CI stamps on here!

I'm also entering it into:

Anything Goes Challenge - Vintage/Shabby Chic
Paper Creations Ink - Vintage or Distressed Look
Just Some Lines - Anything But A Card
Wags'n'Whiskers - Anything But A Card

Craft Room Challenge - Home Decor

Hello everyone.  It's time for the next Craft-Room Challenge, but firstly I'd just like to say that the entries for the Masking challenge were beautiful!  Thank you to everyone who entered.  This time it was my turn to choose the theme, so I chose "Home Decor" as I love seeing handmade creations and altered items in other people's homes.  Home Decor includes anything and everything - from wall hangings to furniture, and everything in between!   Some last minute supplies for my wall hanging didn't turn up so I went to Plan B.   We had a twin pedestal dressing table (not in great condition), which we could no longer fit in the bedroom,  so instead we decided to take the top off it and make it into 2 separate drawer units.  Using some Decopatch glue and a few papers which I got from a craft fair many months ago, I set to work on customising one of the drawer units (which conveniently fits under my craft desk perfectly!):

I may, at some point, add some labels onto the drawers, for the contents.

I liked the end result so much that I decided to recycle a cordial bottle, lol.....

After!
Before
...and now I have a new little vase.  I hung a small dragonfly charm from some white cord, around the top of the bottle.  This was the first time I've used this stuff, and I'm quite impressed with the finish, as it's very smooth!  I'm now thinking that maybe some very nicely patterened (but thin) wrapping paper, along with Ranger Glue n Seal may work quite well too?  Watch this space!!!

I'd love for you to have a go - for inspiration, check out what the rest of the Design Team have come up with, as their creations are absolutely beautiful!  If you're new to the challenge, and are unsure of the rules, have a look at the Pesky Rules page for clarification, and there's a £10 gift voucher to spend at Craft-Room up for grabs in the random draw.

I'd like to enter my decopatching into
